Fu Guo/
The Gay Nation

IMG_0744.JPG

In the United Kingdom, often referred to as "Fuguo" or the "gay nation" in China, many Chinese queer individuals find themselves at a crossroads. Despite the UK's reputation for its progressive LGBT community, many of them feel a profound sense of disconnection. Why is there such a gap between expectation and reality? Zhitong, a transnational Chinese LGBT student, embarks on a deeply personal journey to uncover the reasons behind this disconnect. Through intimate conversations with fellow Chinese queer students, he went through a journey of self-exploration and delves into the cultural, social, and personal factors that contribute to these feelings of alienation. But in the end, is there a satisfying solution? Or, does he need a solution anyway?
